Gabriele Pro, musician devoted and specialised to historical informed performances, he plays medieval fiddle, baroque and romantic violin. At the age of 6 he started studying the violin with Judith Hamza and at the age of 18 he graduated brilliantly at the conservatoire of L’Aquila ‘A. Casella’. Soon, his interest in historical music lead him to specialise in historically accurate and informedmusical performances, completing courses and masterclasses with internationally renowned musicians such as: Giuliano Carmignola, Leila Schayegh, Riccardo Minasi. In 2019 he obtained his diploma in baroque and historical violin magna cum laude at the conservatoire of Palermo “A.Scarlatti” with Enrico Onofri. His work as a concertisthas allowed him to perform as a soloist and at the forefrontof several festivals and concert seasons across Europe and USA: Resonanzen, Tage Alter Musik – Herne, Muziekcentrum De Bijloke – Gent, Aequinox Festival, Centro Cultural de Belém – Lisbona, Filarmonica Romana, I Pomeriggi Musicali – Teatro del Verme di Milano, Teatro Massimo – Palermo, Festival Monteverdi – Cremona, Pavia Barocca, Società dei concerti “B. Barattelli” – L’Aquila; he has played with several ensemble, including: Le Concert des Nations, Venice Baroque Orchestra, Concerto Romano, Ensemble Mare Nostrum, Aquila Altera ensemble, Amici Veneziani. He has workedtogether and has been directed by world class musicians, such as Jordi Savall, Enrico Onofri, Antonio Florio, Alessandro Quarta, Andrea De Carlo, Gemma Beragnolli, Simone Kermes; he has performed in important concert halls, such as: Carnegie Hall, Berliner Philarmonie, Philarmonie de Paris, Wiener Konzerthause, L’Auditori – Barcelona, Dresden Kulturpalast, Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Teatro del Verme. In 2018 he won the XIII edition of the ‘Premio Nazionale delle Arti’ in the ancient music category. He recorded for Sony, Alia Vox, Arcana, Tactus, and for the radio stations RAI, ORF, WDR. He plays a baroque violin built in 2018 in Ravenna by Marco Minnozzi.
